Shapers of Worlds edited by Edward Willett (2020)

This is another one that I’ve had in the queue for a while on the ereader.  I backed a Kickstarter for it on the basis of hearing about it through Chuck Gannon, and there are some great names contributing here.  I didn’t read every story (honestly, maybe about half), but Fonda Lee’s “Welcome to the Legion of Six” was delightful.  The book must have done well as it has become a series with number 5 coming out this March.

“Back in Action” (Netflix 2025)

Watched this as we were looking for something uncomplicated. Lots of action and decent fight choreography. The list of stuntmen was huge. Glenn Close really channeled Julie Andrews in this one. The two leads are cute together but there wasn’t a lot of chemistry between them.

If it does well enough in viewers I bet we’ll see ‘Still in Action’ in ’26.

Short Take: “Star Wars From a Certain Point of View” (2017)

Star Wars from a certain point of viewI recently finished this book after having it in my ereader for YEARS. I bought it originally because it had Wil Wheaton’s first fiction sale in it. (It’s a decent story.) It’s a great idea for a collection; shorts (there’s even a poem) that detail events from the first movie from alternate POVs.  There are sequels covering the next two movies of the original trilogy as well, and proceeds were donated to a book charity, at least when originally published.  I will probably look for the next two, but who knows how long it will take to read them! 😉
